I have struggled with low self-esteem for as long as I can remember. It was when I returned to study as a mature student, that I realised the degree to which it was holding me back. I dreaded having to prepare and deliver presentations, and always feared that I would be the one out of my peer group, who would fail an exam or assessment, even when I had put the work in. Sharon helped me to alter the long-term built-in perspectives I had of myself, stemming from my childhood, by gently challenging my thinking, and helping me find evidence that supported my newly found healthier thought patterns. I now have a ‘toolbox’ of strategies to use, whenever I find myself being tempted into choosing to think negatively.
